Classical Hematology Advancement Mentorship Program (CHAMP)
Attend the Informational Town Hall about CHAMP
ASH is excited to announce the ASH Classical Hematology Mentorship Program, designed to foster mentorship in classical #hematology. Not sure what it鈥檚 all about? Join us for a town hall on November 8 at noon Eastern time to get your questions answered and learn how CHAMP hopes to propel your hematology career.
The ASH Classical Hematology Mentorship Program is a unique, year-long opportunity for current first or second-year pediatric and adult hematology/oncology fellows with interests in clinical careers in classical hematology to be matched with an external mentor who specializes in classical hematology. Through this program, which consists of virtual and in-person components, trainees will be able to ensure that they have the guidance to pursue careers in classical hematology, especially for those training at institutions where robust classical hematology mentorship may not be available.

Background
The Classical Hematology Advancement Mentorship Program (CHAMP) was developed in response to published data citing the importance of mentorship in career development in academic medicine, particularly for those who have an interest in classical hematology. The goal of this unique, year-long opportunity for current first or second-year pediatric and adult hematology/oncology fellows is to address the lack of mentorship in classical hematology through external mentorship.

"For me, one of the most rewarding aspects was seeing [Dr. Cogan's] excitement as he built a career that was a perfect fit for him, and watching him flourish as he made the transition from fellowship to faculty. I now see his name for national presentations and panels, and he is mentoring trainees to ensure we have a strong group of hematologists working in our field."
