Accessing Your ASH Fundamentals for Hematology Fellows Benefits
Any hematology-related fellowship program may participate in the ASH Fundamentals for Hematology Fellows (FHF) program by enrolling 100 percent of its fellows. To find out if your training program participates in FHF, ask your program coordinator or contact [email protected].
Access to FHF benefits begins July 1 and ends on June 30 of the following year. Fellows completing the training program in June will receive FHF benefits through December of their graduating year.
Each fellow enrolled in FHF receives:
- ASH Associate membership
- One complimentary ASH meeting registration1 (or access to recorded sessions for one ASH meeting) per academic year
- Online access to the ASH Self-Assessment Program (ASH-SAP)
- Discounted price for the ASH Hematology In-Service Exam
- New: Online access to the Hematology Review Series, a webinar based learning tool designed for fellows preparing to take the internal medicine hematology certification exam or those desiring a comprehensive update of hematology standards of care
1Complimentary registrations are non-transferrable and include either in-person or virtual registration only. Eligible meetings include the ASH annual meeting, ASH Meeting on Hematologic Malignancies, and Highlights of ASH in North America.
How to Access Your Benefits
ASH Associate Membership
Information about your Associate member benefits will be sent to you via email once your FHF enrollment becomes active (typically July 1 or when payment is received, if after July 1).
- Complimentary publications, including Blood, The Hematologist, and Hematology, the ASH Education Program, will be sent to you automatically. Please be sure to verify your mailing address on file to make sure you receive any print publications that are part of your membership. This is especially important if you were an ASH Resident member and moved recently for your fellowship. Only you can update this information; it was not updated by your fellowship program when you were enrolled in FHF.
- To take advantage of member-only services, such as Consult a Colleague, please include your ASH member ID number in the appropriate field when submitting the online Consult-a-Colleague request.
- To apply for ASH awards, including the Clinical Research Training Institute and Research Training Award for Fellows, please include your ASH member ID number where indicated on the award application.
Complimentary Meeting Registration
To register for an ASH meeting using this benefit, please make sure you are logged in to the ASH website when you attempt to register. Once you are logged in, the website will automatically recognize that you are enrolled in the FHF program and ask whether or not you want to use your free meeting registration.
ASH Self-Assessment Program
For online access to the ASH-SAP, 8th Edition, please sign in to the website using your ASH username and password.

This may be because the FHF enrollment order has not been paid yet. Benefits and membership do not become available until the full registration. ASH does not accept individual payments. To check your payment status, please contact your training program coordinator or ASH Customer Service at 866-828-1231 or [email protected].
Another reason your membership may not show up is if you have two ASH accounts and the membership is assigned to the one you are not logged in to. For assistance, please contact [email protected].
