ASH Career Development and Training Fund

Every patient diagnosed with a blood disease deserves a preeminently trained hematologist with access to the most innovative research, sustained educational programs specific to hematology, and connectivity with the world’s best and brightest hematologists. ASH’s career development and training programs are the lifeline providing that to hematologists at every stage of their career.

With so many career paths available, recruiting exceptional trainees and professionals to hematology and retaining them in the field remains a challenge. Educational debt burden, reimbursement, and support for specific training and research are just a few of the issues threatening hematology as a subspecialty.

ASH is committed to protecting and preserving the discipline of hematology by attracting early-career clinicians and researchers to hematology and retaining them in the field. ASH’s training programs help hematologists build the skills necessary for successful careers as clinicians, researchers, educators, and mentors. Over the years, the Society has strengthened existing programs and introduced new career-enhancement and training opportunities.

Career Development and Training Programs

ASH has served as a mentor for me throughout the 50 years of my career. With its evolution from a small scientific society to a global influence for science, education, and patient care, ASH can serve as a mentor for us all. It is important to support the ASH Foundation to create more mentoring opportunities for current and future hematologists."
